One thought on “My Trailer w/ porch, Homestead Fla”
This is the little trailer I stayed in after hurricane Andrew hit south Florida (Homestead). A wonderful (Christian) family’s father and sons came over and built a terrific porch and screened it in. In return, I taught them the violin. It was on the edge of a ten acre avocado grove. The avocados were shipped to New York under the name brand Eason’s. The electricity came from the old house that I have drawn several times and included in this collection.
The wire in the picture connects the electricity to the trailer. If you look carefully you can see a little face peeking out of the back window of the trailer. It was an idillic time for me. When I moved back to New York City, the porch was taken apart piece by piece and removed from the property. It was a great project for the father and his sons to work and build together so closely.
