1. DION and the BELMONTS. I had the pleasure of meeting Dion recently. They are working on a musical show of his life. Many years ago, he and his original friends and singing ensemble lived on Belmont Avenue in New York City. While on tour, his band took a small plane that crashed with all perishing. By chance, Dion was not on that plane. After years of drug abuse, he became religious and has been ‘clean’ for many decades. After I saw a rehearsal of the developing show about him, I just shook his hand and said ‘congratulations’ He seemed very nice.The portrait here, looks a bit like him these days. (March 2020)
