  1. While waiting in the cold outside a police precinct for a friend who had been falsely accused of abuse by his wife during a custody battle,
I notice the bikes and decided to try to capture every tire and line that I could see. I was difficult to create an honest depiction, and standing up drawing in my little notebook, I was glad that I finished it and was satisfied. I like where I placed my signature. Ha!

  2. When you see a work this detailed, it usually means that the artist may have owned one of the bikes, or had much time on his hands, or
had nothing better to do. Or both. My bike was chained around the corner.
