There actually was a very nice old fashioned barber shop at Broadway between 86 and 87th street. Lots of brass and old barber chairs that swiveled around . The gyrating barber pole outside the door. All gone now. I believe it is a large PC Richards store now. I passed by that location recently and decided to try to capture that ambiance and memory a bit.
If you didn’t notice, the barber has scissors in his hand and the barber’s left hand is holding the boys head. The only problem is that the barber’s left hand looks like it is emanating from his ear.
