1. Boys and girls, the S.S. Edmund Fitzgerald was a ship 729 feet long and 75 feet wide. It weighed 13,000 tones empty. It worked on the Great Lakes of America. On November 10th, 1975 on Lake Superior, the lake, it is said “never gives up her dead when the skies of November turn gloomy”. She was carrying 26,000 tons of Iron Ore. In the early evening she was lost in a huge storm. “Everyman knows, as the captain did too, twas the Witch of November came stealing”. All hands were lost and no one left to tell. All 29 crew vanished into a watery grave. The captain McSorley never seen again.
