I used to sneak into the New York City Ballet by asking patrons that were leaving after the first or second intermission for their ticket stubs.
One time, once inside I spotted two empty seats at the front of the first balcony. When the lights went down I sat in one of the seats thinking how lucky I was when I felt a finger tapping my shoulder. It was George Balanchine and Jerome Robbins. I was in their seats. I ran up the aisle and stood in the dark at the back as the usher glared at me.
